Snowcap Lumber is a specialty plywood and veneer mill located in Abbotsford, British Columbia. By focusing on West Coast Species we have created a niche distinct from other commodity panel producers. We are known for our Alder panels and have pioneered the use of alder veneer in plywood manufacturing. We demand high quality in all the products we manufacture and on every level we are committed to customer satisfaction. While Snowcap is still relatively young, it has evolved from logging roots that go back over 100 years in our province. As a means of recovering more useable wood from logging operations, Snowcap was amongst the first to set up portable sawmills located at the logging site and at other locations in the logging process. Therefore, in 1993 when Snowcap started manufacturing, we had established supply and the highest qualtiy wood available to slice veneer. In the early stages, we also identified Alder as a strategic specie and began experimenting with color and types of grade. Snowcap, through experience gained over many years, has created grades of alder that best utilize the forest resource. Under the direction of our good customers in the marketplace, alder plywood has come of age.

Now as the leader in Alder plywood, Snowcap Lumber continues to grow and develop. We have a solid supply base and will continue to give our customers the material they have learned to rely on.
