Snowcap Lumber is proud to be a supplier to the BC-Canada Pavilion at the Beijing Olympics. The 23,000 square-foot Pavilion is located at the heart of Beijing, situated between the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. It will welcome visitors from May 1 through Sept. 18, 2008 and provide a spectacular backdrop for the thousands of international journalists, visitors, sporting organizations officials and businesses who attend the 2008 Summer Games.
The pavilion’s design will feature a striking series of giant arcs that symbolize Canada’s 10 provinces and three territories and represent one of British Columbia’s key industries, forestry. The perforated zinc and aluminum between the arcs will shine at night, representing the vastness of Canada stretching from coast to coast. The materials used in the construction of the pavilion will highlight value-added wood products, industry leading practices and innovative architecture. Snowcap Lumber is proud to be representing Canada and supplying key elements in the construction of this beautiful building.
